About CHILDREN & STUDENT Group Tours: There must be at least one adult chaperone or teacher per 10 students. For pre-school groups, there must be one adult chaperone or teacher per 5 children. Chaperones and teachers must be at least 18 years or older. Prior to your arrival, students and chaperones/teachers should be divided into equal groups of no more than 10 students. A typical visit to Annmarie is 1 1/2 to 3 hours long. Depending on the length of the visit, each small group will rotate through different pre-arranged indoor and outdoor activities; each rotation is about 30 minutes. A lunch break can be built into the rotation. There is plenty of seating area for lunch; depending on the weather, lunch is taken inside or outside.
Visiting the Gift Shop - we encourage all adult groups to make time to visit our lovely Gift Shop where you will find a variety of hand crafted and unique items. Student groups are allowed to visit the Gift Shop, but it must be arranged for in advance; no more than 6 students may visit the Gift Shop at once and they must be accompanied by at least one chaperone or teacher. In lieu of visiting the Gift Shop, many student groups opt to order a Gift Shop Goodie Bag for $2.50 ea (these must be ordered at least one week in advance). Please direct all questions to volunteers@annmariegarden.org or call 410-326-4640.
How long does it take to tour Annmarie?
Typically, a group tour lasts 1.5 - 3 hours, but shorter visits are possible. A 1.5 -3 hour visit might include a tour of the Arts Building followed by a walk along the Wooded Path (handicap accessible). Most of the outdoor sculpture is displayed along this path. Creative programs and activities can be built into element of your tour. Most tours also include a tea and coffee break followed by a visit to our lovely Gift Shop. Annmarie also makes a great place for large tour buses to take a meal or refreshment break - order your box or catered meal in advance, enjoy the beautiful setting and stretch your legs before getting back on the road. Please let us know how much time you have to spend with us and we will help you schedule your time.
