About Michelle Yanity

Michelle Yanity is the artist and creative force behind Red Clover Studio Art, in Gambrills, MD. A lifelong artist and dedicated art educator with over 20 years of experience, she has been inspiring others through both her teaching and her whimsical, vibrant creations since officially launching her studio in 2019.

Michelle’s work is a joyful exploration of color, texture, and storytelling, often incorporating playful mixed media techniques. However, her artistic journey took on deeper meaning in 2018 after the sudden loss of her youngest brother, Stevie. While going through his belongings, she discovered a childhood paper where he described her as “the most wonderful person in the world” because she was an artist. That heartfelt reminder fueled a renewed passion for sharing her work with the world, turning her art into a tribute to love, memory, and imagination.

As a mixed media artist, she brings together collage, painting, and drawing to craft lively and dynamic compositions on wood panels and other unique surfaces. By layering paper, oil pastels, and acrylic paint, and other materials, she creates bold colors, playful shapes, and textures that invite the viewer to explore and connect with each piece. 

Through her work she hopes to transport viewers to a place of joy, familiarity, and warmth—whether it’s a reminder of a favorite Maryland memory or simply an appreciation of the whimsy that surrounds us. Michelle hopes her art helps remind us to embrace the joy in life’s simple moments.
