JUROR- Dr. Margaret A. Weitekamp, Department Chair and Curator of the Space History Department, National Air and Space Museum
This exhibition invites viewers to explore visionary landscapes, fantastic cityscapes, and surreal dreamscapes crafted by contemporary artists. Blurring the boundaries between reality and imagination, the exhibition will showcase artwork that transports audiences to new and unexpected realms. Each piece serves as a portal into an artist’s unique, invented world, inspiring wonder, and curiosity. There is a heavy emphasis on worlds created by artists as opposed to preexisting fictional universes.
This exhibition will be open to the public in the Kay Daugherty Gallery of Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center, from May 9, 2025, to September 21, 2025.

Plan to "get your feet wet" in this exhibit about Maryland quags. A quag is a marshy or boggy place. Explore our beautiful wetlands; marshes, swamps, bogs, vernal pools, and adjacent damp areas found on the edges of lakes, ponds, rivers and streams. Discover their incredible and sometimes hard-to-see inhabitants.
Pretend Play areas will have little ones wading, sloshing, paddling, and squishing through various wetland types. Visitors of all ages will have fun playing hide and seek games that will challenge your observational skills. And best of all... get a closer look at some live animals that are quite at home in these areas. This exhibit will make you appreciate these essential places and their clever inhabitants.
