Felicia & Friends: A Togetherness Tribute to MLK is a community-centered project and group exhibition grounded in action, resistance, and collective care. This exhibition confronts the urgent question at the heart of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision of the Beloved Community: How do we actively build a just, equitable world together?
Communities, like fiber, do not come together by chance; they are shaped through struggle, persistence, and intentional acts of care. Each work in this exhibition embodies truth, transforming fragments into unified forms that speak to solidarity, resilience, and interdependence. The exhibit is a "community" of over 20 artists coming together to express principles of Beloved Community and I Have A Dream principles.
This exhibition honors the legacy of Dr. King not through nostalgia, but through action—calling viewers to recognize their role in shaping the communities they inhabit. It invites healing, accountability, and reflection, urging us to move beyond witnessing injustice toward becoming active co-creators of a world where every voice, every body, and every thread is seen, valued, and necessary.
