Ray Bogle

Ray has been working with clay and making pots as a hobby for almost 30 years. Throughout that time, he made all kinds of things: some pieces just for the fun of it, while others were sold at craft shows, and more recently, through the CalvArt Gallery. Along the way, he taught some classes and explored several different methods of glazing and firing....the culmination of which has brought him to the present time where he finds his efforts focused on further refining of his skills through advanced exploration of the many different methods of throwing, glazing and firing pottery and a return to teaching at Annmarie Garden. Recently Ray has been exploring Japanese Ceramics to gain an indepth understanding of the history and techniques that are foundational to Raku.

Robyn Strayer

Robyn has been teaching various art mediums for over 30 years including dance, polymer clay, felting and flameworking glass. She's worked at Annmarie Garden for the several years where she's been a member of the programs and exhibit staff, assisting with management and implementation.
She received a BA from St. Mary’s College, MD. and has continued to take intensive classes in glass at Pittsburgh Glass Center, Penland School of Crafts in NC, Weisser Glass and Vitrum Glass in the DC area and has studied with glass artist and author Cornina Tettinger.
Her fiber arts interests were developed through involvement with local fiber guilds and specialized workshops. Although she's developed skills in dying, spinning, weaving and felting, she settled into Nuno felting, a process of blending silk and wool using soap, water and manipulation to create beautiful surface textures which are incorporated into mainly scarves.
Robyn has displayed and sold her fiber arts and glass work for many years. At Annmarie Garden she enjoys teaching these techniques.

"Working with fiber is so relaxing and glass is excitingly mesmerizing."
