Dowell Peninsula History Project

Since its launch in November 2022, the Dowell Peninsula History Project has been dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of our local community. Through interviews with longtime residents, the project captures personal stories and firsthand accounts of life and work on the peninsula. The committee also hosts community scanning events to digitize and archive photographs, documents, and other historical materials, helping to preserve our shared heritage for future generations. Since 2024, the project has expanded its programming to include guided Walk & Talk Tours of the peninsula, led by community members Ron Clark and Matt Gambrill, who share their personal knowledge, local connections, and stories of the area’s history.
