Teens can earn service-learning hours through summer camps, festivals, and ongoing projects, while college students can gain hands-on experience through the Daugherty Internship Program. Love art, nature, and working with kids? As a Counselor-in-Training (CIT), you’ll support Annmarie’s summer camps alongside instructors and staff. CITs help prepare activities, assist campers, and practice leadership skills while earning service-learning hours.

Festivals & Special Events
Help bring Annmarie’s festivals to life! Teen volunteers may greet visitors, lead art activities, assist with event stations, or take on other creative roles at events throughout the year.
Ongoing Projects
Prefer a quieter setting? Opportunities may include preparing art materials, organizing spaces, creating festival décor, helping with garden projects, or assisting in the Nature Nook. Tell us about your interests and goals so we can help find a good fit.

Named for Southern Maryland arts supporter Kay Daugherty, this program gives college students practical experience in an arts organization. Projects may involve education, exhibitions, public relations, environmental programs, or other areas based on the student’s interests and Annmarie’s needs.
Paid Summer Camp Counselor Internship
Undergraduate and graduate students help coordinate summer camp activities, prepare classrooms, check in campers, and support instructors. This paid position is approximately 35–40 hours per week, Monday–Friday. Applicants must be enrolled in a degree program and have experience with or an interest in working with children.

Spring & Fall Internships
Unpaid internships for college credit are available to undergraduate and graduate students. Most are one to three credits, or approximately 4–12 hours per week. Students should confirm their school’s credit requirements with their academic advisor; Annmarie staff will work with accepted interns to develop an appropriate project.
