Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center invites emerging and established artists to submit original artworks to “Inked: The Art of Tattoo.” This exhibition will celebrate the rich artistic traditions, cultural significance, and evolving creative language of tattooing. Long regarded as both a personal form of expression and a powerful visual art, tattoos tell stories of identity, memory, heritage, transformation, and belonging. Through this exhibition, artists are invited to explore the imagery, symbolism, techniques, and aesthetics inspired by tattoos and tattoo culture.
We envision the gallery installed with tattoo flash paintings, artistic photographs of tattoos/tattooed people, and artworks presenting tattooed individuals or directly related to tattoo sub-culture. Works may also celebrate the craft itself, examine the cultural significance of tattooing across societies, or explore themes of permanence, resilience, transformation, memory, and self-expression. All work should relate aesthetically to tattoos or tattoo culture.
This exhibition is open to all materials and media. 2-D and 3-D artwork will be considered for this exhibition. All work must be completed within the last four years. Artists must be 18 years or older. Artists must be living and working in the United States or Canada. Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center takes a 40% commission on all gallery sales. This exhibition will be open to the public in the Main Gallery of Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center from October 9 through January 17. There will be an Annmarie After Hours opening reception for the exhibition on October 9 from 5 pm–7 pm.
Annmarie is a Smithsonian Affiliate located in scenic Solomons, Maryland, on the Chesapeake Bay. Since 1992, Annmarie has captivated visitors of all ages with its natural setting and exceptional programs and events. Holiday Gift Show & Sale 2026
JURIED HOLIDAY SHOW & SALE
November 1, 2026 – January 1, 2027

Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center invites emerging and established artists to submit original artworks to the Holiday Gift Show & Sale exhibition to take place November 1, 2026 through January 1, 2027 in the Main Gallery of the Murray Arts Building.
Set your sights on holiday shoppers, as the exhibit will coincide with Annmarie’s annual Ornament Show, as well as everyone’s favorite festive event, Annmarie Garden in Lights! Attendance during the holiday season is more than 35,000 guests!
All media will be considered, including painting, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, jewelry, glass, fiber, digital, photography, and mixed media. Price of works cannot exceed $300. Artworks do not have to be holiday themed.
This is a show and sale style exhibit, meaning artworks will be removed as they sell. Artists will be contacted upon sale of work and invited to replace the sold piece with another artwork. Annmarie retains a 35% commission on all works sold.
18th Annual Ornament Show & Sale
Presented by the Annmarie Gift Shop, the Ornament Show & Sale is a juried show that features hand-crafted ornaments by more than 25 regional artists.  This is the perfect place to find unique and affordable gifts for friends and family.  The ornaments are beautifully hung on trees displayed in the Main Gallery of the Arts Building.  Visitors shop off the trees and take their purchases to the Gift Shop. The show kicks off before Thanksgiving and runs through early January. During Garden In Lights, the show is open late!

Holiday Train Display at Annmarie Garden In Lights 2026
Daytime Schedule: December 5 & 12 (10am-1pm). The trains will run during the Holiday Markets; admission is free during the markets.
Lego Holiday Village Display at Annmarie Garden In Lights 2026
We had so much fun in 2025 that the Lego Holiday Village Display is back for the 2026 holiday season! From festive houses and architecture to winter trees, caves, and other natural elements, guests will be delighted by the exceptional creativity of our Lego builders! The exhibit will be on display during the day and, of course, during the evening of Annmarie Garden In Lights. Be sure to check our holiday hours before planning your visit, and if you are coming at night, you’ll need to purchase light show tickets.
This is a community exhibit, and anyone can submit an entry to display your work. All ages and abilities welcome. Application link coming soon.
