A Powerful Vision for the Future
Annmarie Garden’s Long-Range Expansion Plan envisions a more welcoming, accessible, and inspiring destination, with expanded gardens and trails, enhanced spaces for art, education, performances, and community gatherings, and improved visitor amenities. Designed to grow in phases, this vision will come to life through the generosity of donors, partners, and friends who believe in Annmarie’s future.
Expansion Plan News
In September 2026, Annmarie Garden announced a $500,000 Arts Capital Grant from the Maryland State Arts Council—the first grant of its kind awarded in Calvert County. The funding will help transform the current maintenance barn into an accessible Clay Studio with three times the capacity of the existing space. A projected construction start date will be announced in early 2027, with the new studio expected to take shape over the next two years.
Director Stacey Hann-Ruff noted that expanded clay programming emerged repeatedly as a community priority during long-range planning. Deputy Director and Curator of Education Jaimie Jeffrey is leading a team of staff, faculty, and regional ceramic artists in designing a flexible studio that will welcome more students while supporting creativity, connection, mindfulness, and wellness-focused programming.
