Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center is excited to announce to “Landmark: Iconic American Views.” This exhibition celebrates the places and scenes that define the American landscape. These places can be manufactured or natural, monumental or ordinary. From sweeping national parks and historic architecture to roadside attractions, coastal horizons, small-town main streets, and urban skylines, this show explores how artists interpret the views that shape our shared visual identity.

In this exhibition, viewers will see recognizable landmarks as well as personal perspectives on what makes a place iconic. Whether capturing the grandeur of natural vistas, the character of regional architecture, or the quiet familiarity of a beloved local scene, the artwork highlights the power of place in the American experience.

This exhibition will be open to the public in the Kay Daugherty Gallery of Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center, from May 8, 2026, to September 20, 2026. There will be an Annmarie After Hours opening reception for the exhibition on May 8th, 2026, from 5 pm–7 pm.

Annmarie is a Smithsonian Affiliate located in scenic Solomons, Maryland, on the Chesapeake Bay. Since 1992, Annmarie has captivated visitors of all ages with its natural setting and exceptional programs and events.

17th Annual Fairies in the Garden Outdoor Exhibit

April 3 - September 7, 2026

*Special note about the display of the houses: it takes our garden gnomes just over a week to place all the creations out in the garden, so if you visit between April 3-10, you will find some around the Arts Buiding and some in the woods.

Come explore this charming outdoor exhibit of more than 100 handmade houses scattered throughout the trails and woods of the garden. Made by wonderfully creative artists from the community (and beyond), this exhibit features works in all media.

Annmarie After Hours Opening Reception - Friday, April 3, 5-7pm

Join us for an outdoor family-friendly opening of our most magicalicious exhibit. All the houses will be displayed around the outside of the Arts Building. This is a great opportunity to see them all before they are scattered throughout the sculpture garden! Reservations are not required, just come. There will be a food truck, cash bar, and live music. Admission: free for members; $5 for adults, $3 for kids, free for age 2 & under.

About Artists in Action

Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center is pleased to announce the return of Artists in Action! In April and May, Annmarie’s Main Gallery will be transformed into temporary artist studios, providing a serene retreat and workspace for artists to create. The 30-acre park, patios, and pavilions will also host plein air painters and outdoor installation artists.

PLUMAGE & PLACE: Birds of the World

On exhibit in the Nature Nook, March 1, 2026 - January 31, 2027

Plumage and Place: Birds of the World invites visitors to explore the remarkable diversity of birds and the adaptations that help them thrive in habitats from forests to deserts. Discover how beaks, feet, feathers, and even bones reveal a bird’s lifestyle—from cracking nuts to sipping nectar or swimming with ease—and see houseplants paired with birds from their shared regions of origin. The exhibit highlights unusual, colorful, tall, and tiny species, showcases how evolution shapes form and function, and explains everyday threats like window collisions and how you can help. All ages will enjoy the eye-catching displays, and hands-on activities throughout this exhibit.
