JURIED SHOW
Juror- Elizabeth Dale-Deines, Manager, Public Programs, National Air and Space Museum
Since the dawn of human existence, humans have been using visual art to communicate stories. From the cave paintings of Lascaux to the intricate hieroglyphs of ancient Egypt, art has been a fundamental way for people to document their experiences, beliefs, and feelings. Chronicles: Storytelling Through Imagery will explore the power of visual narratives by bringing together artworks that weave compelling stories using symbolism, composition, and emotion. These works will highlight how contemporary artists engage in this age-old tradition by capturing moments, myths, and their personal histories in striking and imaginative ways.
This exhibition will be open to the public in the Kay Daugherty Gallery of Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center, from October 10th, 2025, to January 18th, 2026. Annmarie hosted an Annmarie After Hours opening reception for the exhibition on October 10th, 2025.

JUROR- Dr. Margaret A. Weitekamp, Department Chair and Curator of the Space History Department, National Air and Space Museum
This exhibition invites viewers to explore visionary landscapes, fantastic cityscapes, and surreal dreamscapes crafted by contemporary artists. Blurring the boundaries between reality and imagination, the exhibition will showcase artwork that transports audiences to new and unexpected realms. Each piece serves as a portal into an artist’s unique, invented world, inspiring wonder, and curiosity. There is a heavy emphasis on worlds created by artists as opposed to preexisting fictional universes.
This exhibition will be open to the public in the Kay Daugherty Gallery of Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center, from May 9, 2025, to September 21, 2025.

Art Blooms is a three-day exhibit featuring the work of more than 25 floral designers from across the region. Each floral designer is assigned a work of art in the Main Gallery or the Kay Daugherty Gallery and asked to create an arrangement inspired by that work of art. The results are surprising, beautiful, and provocative - and not to be missed. 2025 will mark the 16th year for Art Blooms, an exhibit co-hosted by the Calvert Garden Club and Annmarie Garden.
